International Reading Association (IRA)

This association promotes effective reading practices around the world. The site also includes membership information and educational resources for literacy professionals.

University of Utah Reading Clinic

The University of Utah Reading Clinic (UURC) was founded in 1999 by the Utah Legislature to provide specific “direct services” to Utah educators and parents. The UURC’s goals include serving as a resource for parents by offering both assessment and intervention for struggling readers and to educators by offering professional development.

National Institute for Literacy (NIFL)

The National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) is a federal organization that shares information about literacy and supports the development of quality literacy services for all Americans.

National Reading Panel (NRP)

The National Reading Panel has completed their research assessment of reading instruction approaches. Publications and materials can be requested from this site.

Utah Council of the International Reading Association (UCIRA)

The UCIRA’s goal is to influence all Utah citizens to develop lifelong reading habits. This organization has many activities and service projects to help them promote this goal.

Utah State Office of Education (USOE)

Provides comprehensive directories of schools and colleges as well as press releases, educational publications, and other information regarding education.

United States Department of Education

This is the official site for the United States Department of Education.

What Works Clearinghouse

It was established by the United States Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences to provide teachers, policymakers, and the public with a source of scientific evidence of what works in education. It is administered by the Department of Education through contracts with the American Institute for Research and the Campbell Collaboration.
